THE PREVIOUS MONTH’S 3 ESSENTIAL TIPS
1. THE INSPIRATION: PLAY-FULL-NESS
Playfulness is the quality of being light hearted and/or full of fun!
To engage in activities for enjoyment, rather than for practical or serious purposes, is very enriching!
There is a time and place for both. And, even though the key is to have balance, where practical matters are taken care of and recreational time is also a priority, to live life fully, LIVING IN THE SPIRIT OF LIGHT HEARTEDNESS, is a wonderful quality of being!
So, if you will, remember:
ENGAGE IN YOUR LIFE TO IN JOY/ENJOY. THE WORLD IS YOUR PLAYGROUND!
AND YOU GET TO PLAY! YAY!
2. THE PRACTICE: BEING WITH YOUR INNER FUN!
LIGHTEN UP WITH THE LAUGHING CHI GONG
Every day, any day! Morning, noon or night. Sitting, standing or lying down:
1) With eyes closed (optional), put your palms on your heart or heart center. Gently begin to giggle for at least 20-30 seconds.
2) Then bring palms to your naval. Begin to chuckle for at least 20-30 seconds.
3) Then bring your palms to your bones at your iliac crest (the crest of the ilium...see below image in red, with right hand on the right side & the left hand on the left side), and begin to internally laugh, laughing inside a very boisterous laugh, and imagining yourself doing so for at least 20-30 seconds.
4) Then just rest in the sensation of all that, and see how it feels and what is revealed.
THIS CAN BE VERY UPLIFTING, ESPECIALLY WHEN BEING CONSISTENT WITH IT!
FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME TO WITH ANY QUESTIONS, OR TO LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES!
3. THE YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH:
CAN CALM AND RECONNECT YOU TO YOUR CORE
"The sweet fragrance of Inner Child™ can be used aromatically, or topically, to encourage you to connect with your authentic self."
This wonderful smelling and soothing blend is specifically designed for us to reconnect with our inner child, inner self, the core of who we are, or what I like to refer to as, our inner delight, our true joyous nature!
For me, when I anoint with this oil, it is to bring out my playful joyful fun Self! Yay!
Citrus aurantium dulcis† (Orange) peel oil, Citrus reticulata† (Tangerine) peel oil, Cananga odorata† (Ylang ylang) flower oil, Santalum paniculatium† (Royal Hawaiian sandalwood) wood oil, Jasminum officinale* (Jasmine) oil, Cymbopogon flexuosus† (Lemongrass) oil, Picea mariana† (Spruce) leaf oil, Citrus aurantium amara† (Bitter orange) flower oil (Neroli)

1. THE INSPIRATION
“Beauty emerges when at REST, & RESTED.
Practicing REST calms, clears, and connects you with that that is most advantageous to receive,
such to be more intuitive, creative and innovated.
Your Providence is calling, and the Soul is glowing your infinite wisdom.” -PC
2. THE PRACTICE: CONNECTING TO RESTFULNESS
Many of us fall prey to burn-out and/or what I like to call drain-out.
Countless interactions can drain us, especially when we are scurrying about without our conscious awareness.
When you are feeling tired and/or weary - HELLO - you need REST.
It is your body’s way of saying: “Slow down, you are moving too fast, you got to make the morning last.”
Yet the most sufficient and sustaining REST is one to be practicing everyday, and believe it or not, all day!
REST is at the root of strength, and REST is a way of being, not just a vacation time.
Practicing RESTING is the way to be that, and the way to be in ease and grace, at any age and at every stage!
When REST is insufficient, more depletion occurs and the Mind gets weak to carry on most positively.
It is not about having more time, it is about having more REST. It is not about managing your time! It is about how you manage you.
You can not change your mind by changing your behavior,
But you CAN change your behavior by changing your mind.
Cast off the burdens of worldly demands to help you access your most passionate Truth,
and follow that which uplifts and draws you toward what inspires you most personally and/or professionally.
This is what this month's "Jewels of Finesse", REST & REWARD, 3-hour R&R Yoga and Essential Oil Retreat offers you!
A RESTING place, and a RESTFUL space for that!
Having a significant and specific devotional and intentional time to connect and commune with One’s Intrinsic True Nature/Essence/Intuition/Higher Self, brings a most nourishing and nurturing RESTFUL and REWARDING state to be guided from.
3. THE YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH:
Eliminating stress is certainly a restful way. Stress Away essential oil blend is a uniquely relaxing oasis in a fast-paced world.
In a 3 ounce bottle of water I add about 6 drops and spray it around my home for a fresh, soothing aroma.
It can also be diffused for the same effect.
Applying Stress Away to my wrists, behind my ears, or the back of my neck has me rest in its calming scent.
It can be purchased as a roll-on, and as a relaxing bath bomb too!
How restful is that? Very restful!
Ingredients: Copaifera reticulata† (Copaiba), Citrus aurantifolia† (Lime), Cedrus atlantica† (Cedarwood), Vanilla planifolia† (Vanilla), Ocotea quixos† (Ocotea), Lavandula angustifolia† (Lavender) - † 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil
1. THE INSPIRATION
It is impossible to be separate from the preciousness that you are, no matter what you think of yourself. You are never separate from your own True Nature. It is just taking time to connect with it that makes a difference.
When we practice Presence and Patience, it helps us to choose more clearly between trusting intentionally, or resisting. The practice also builds the muscle of staying on the path of loving mindfulness, and enjoying the pleasure of where peace and preciousness merge.
2. THE PRACTICE
Again we come back to the awareness of the breath! REPETITION is a proven element of successful transformation and change! And so again: AWARENESS OF HOW YOU BREATH IS THE FIRST STEP. I call this practice Relational Breathing because it is your relationship to your breathing that will make a most significant difference. And, “When You Focus on the Breath, the Mind Quiets. When the Mind Quiets, The Heart Rests. When the Heart Rests, the Body is More at Ease. When the Body is at Ease, the Secret of Your Well Being, Your True Nature is More Available & Accessible.”
Will you make time to just listen and observe how you are breathing? Your breathing changes all the time throughout the day. Notice how you breathe when you are walking, i.e. to your car, standing in a bank line, or sitting at your desk. Notice how you are breathing when you are happy and excited, and perhaps, when you are sad or mad. When you have a cold, instead of forcing your self to breathe, just notice how you are breathing. There are many opportunities and brief moments in which to observe your breath.
The more you practice this Relational Breathing, the more patient and peaceful you will become. The more you are at peace, the more you will experience a different pace, one more of your True Nature, different from the hurried busy pace you can get so caught up in.
3. PEACE & CALMING™
THE YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH
This is another one of my first all time favorites when I discovered YLEOs in 2001. This blend of oils IS so sweetly calming, especially at the end of a long day, or in times of stress. It can even be good for dogs or cats to help them relax, when they are too excited. I like to diffuse it at night, and/or put it on the bottoms of my feet before getting in bed to get peaceful sleep and vivid sweet dreams! I also like to wear it as a perfume behind my ears, along my neck and at my wrists. I often get complimentary remarks of the scent too!
3 ESSENTIAL TIPS
1. PEACE OF MIND
One way I see the breath, is that breath is the music that has the body move. The more conscious of the breath, the healthier we breathe. The more healthier we breathe, the more healthier we move. The more healthier we move, the more healthy the body is. The more healthier the body is, the more at ease we are. And the more at ease we are, the more we are at peace.
Simply put, stress restrains our breathing. Relaxing frees the breath. Tuning into the breath relieves stress. The key is being connected: aware of how you breathe first. Once you have a solid practice of relational breathing, advanced breathing techniques will be more effective.
2. AWARENESS OF HOW YOU BREATH IS THE FIRST STEP.
This practice is called Relational Breathing because it is your relationship to your breathing that will make the most significant difference. As with any successful relationship, it is important to be patient, observant and receptive as you listen to your breath, practicing being present to it, versus being restless and forcing the breath.
There are many opportunities in which to observe your breath.
Being curious and conscious of the breathing brings you more and more aware of, and in harmony with your physical being and sensations, which brings more life into your body. The more attention you give to your breathing, and the sensations you experience and become aware of, the more energy and vitality you will have.

THE 3 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR FEBRUARY 2018
“When the Busy Mind Quiets, The Heart Rests.
When the Heart Rests, the Body is More at Ease.
When the Body is at Ease, Your Intuition, Intelligence, Innovation, and
Your Inner Connection/Your Higher Self/Your True Nature,
Are More and More Available and Accessible.” -PC
1. THE TEACHING:
QUIETING THE MIND,
RESTING THE HEART, EASING THE BODY = LOVE & JOY
QUIETING THE MIND: The “EGO, RATIONAL, BUZY”, sometimes called the MONKEY MIND” is valuable and necessary to survive in the world , BUT IT DOES NOT NEED TO RUN THE SHOW! Because it is a survival mechanism, it is run by fear, which is not to be discounted. The challenge is, that it is perpetually stuck existing in a limiting materialistic world view loop. I assert that the imagination is not part of this mind. This mind may help you create for sure, especially when mathematics are involved, but it is not the expanding spacious mind where genius and innovation thrive. The ego, rational, busy mind appears to be only of black and white, stop or go, yes or no. The only grey area of this mind is usually confusion. Do unlimited possibilities occur there? The ego, rational, busy mind is always trying to figure things out, and outsmart, even itself. (That’s where doubt comes in.) And this mind is not something you can outsmart! “OUTSMARTING” is still the ego, rational, busy mind still doing its thing!
This ego mind, rationalizes and busily gains a faster momentum the longer you live on the planet, unless you want to do something about it!
And the only thing you can do is give it a rest! And give your Self a rest from it too! This is how we create peace and space for higher consciousness. And we all do this to some degree and in various ways. Yet…how do you consciously give that mind a rest and value the importance to do so? By Quieting it!
And how do you quiet it? Well, the yogis say you quiet and heal the mind through smiles and concentration. Well, hopefully you are free from taking your self too seriously, and have lots a smiles per day. And, does concentration come as easy? Dharana is the yoga of concentration, and the 6th limb of the 8 limbs of yoga. It is also a precursor to meditation. There are lots of ways to practice concentration. Yet, there is something very easily and readily acessible to focus on which is always with you to strengthen your concentration. And that is your breath! When you focus on your breath, your mind quiets and your heart immediately rests and relaxes, then the body responds by being less stressed and more at ease.
RESTING THE HEART: The below practice is a very simple and easy 1-2 minute daily movement in which to build the capacity to increase the concentration of what I call “relational breathing” such to quiet your mind, and put your to heart at rest. It is a great way to start and end your day, and to train that busy mind to “not jump the gun”. Consider that the HEART is distinct from the rational mind. And is more and more of your truer guiding light. And if that is so, what will you chose to run your show/your life? Your heart, or the fear based gotta go, gotta get this done, ego rational picking up speed busy mind?
THE BODY AT EASE: Now it may be scary to let the heart run the show. And that may just be the fear based mind talk of the rational mind to defend its position. That mind is often afraid to let the heart’s experiences/emotions/feelings be felt. But what about the truth of “following your heart” which has been encouraged again and again over the ages. The ego, rational, busy mind is fear based which, again, is necessary, but at this point in our evolution, inappropriate to run your entire life. I declare now is the time, to rest and awaken the heart that is love based, perhaps slowly, but definitely surely, which has your body and your whole being be more in and at ease!
YOUR TRUE NATURE REVEALED: When you let the ego, rational, busy mind quiet, so the heart rests, and puts the body at ease, you are able to listen more to what there is to be heard from your heart, your inner connection, your higher power, what ever it is you want to call it! And you get to hear what it has to say! Doing this as a practice cultivates more self trust, confidence, courage and, dare I say, LOVE! Love is a fundamental pillar of health. As the Beatles sang: “All you need is Love, Love. Love is all you need.” And how about Bob Marley’s “One Love”? And it is said: “Only Love heals.” If this is truth, which I believe it is, I invite you to practice more being present to the breath, so your mind quiets, and you hear the love the heart reveals! Are you willing to let your heart be in charge, run the show, your life? I say, "Go for it!"
2. THE PRACTICE:
THE SPINE STRETCH WITH THE HEART BREATH
This very easy and simple daily 1 minute movement quiets, calms and focuses the mind; stretches, decompresses and aligns the spine; relaxes and revitalizes the body; and puts you at ease. The conscious concentration of focusing on the breath cultivates inner perceptual awareness.

3 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR JANUARY 2018
1. Theme: SELF-CARE DISCIPLINES = WELL BEING & FREEDOM
2. Teaching: THE NIYAMAS - PERSONAL CONDUCT & OBSERVANCES
3. Essential Oil (EO): "MOTIVATION" - A YLEO Blend
1. SELF-CARE DISCIPLINES = WELL BEING & FREEDOM
WHAT SELF CARE CAN UNIQUELY MEAN & TAKE TO CULTIVATE!
“Self” can be defined as a person's essential being that distinguishes them from others. This makes certain that each person has qualities that make them individual and unique. This means that each of us, as we experience our own individual perceptions, emotions, and thoughts, give rise to our own individual and unique strengths, needs, desires, wants and wont's. Therefore, each of us has a unique definition of what “qualtity of life” means to us, and this changes and grows as we continue living.
“Care” can be defined as the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, protection and sustainability of someone at any age and at every stage of life. In healthcare, self-care is a necessary human regular function of individual mastery deliberate and self initiated. In modern medicine, preventive medicine and holistic modalities, like yoga, align most closely with self-care. Self-care is seen as a fundamental pillar of health and a partial solution to rising healthcare costs.
WHAT IS SELF CARE & WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO/FOR YOU?
To distinctly identify what will suit and serve you most valuably, using the yoga NIYAMAS* gives us a great reference, guide and source of information to ascertain Self Care. The NIYAMAS, the second “limb” and a most valuable tool of Patanjali’s eight-limbed yoga system describe actions and attitudes to be cultivated to overcome suffering, and the illusion of separation. In Sanskrit, “niyama”means “personal observance,” or conducts, rules, laws.
They are not exercises or actions to be simply studied. They represent far more than an attitude. They are actions to take that bring about a way of being that builds and deepens through the practice of them. Compared with the yamas, the first limb, ethical conduct/universal morality, these niyama actions/practices extend the ethical guidelines provided in the first limb, and are more intimate and personal. They refer to a way of being that we adopt/embrace toward our Selves as we cultivate living more in ease and grace for the benefit of all creation.
2. THE 5 NIYAMAS* - THE PRACTICES OF:
1) SAUCA/SAUCHA - Cleanliness of Mind and Body - Purity
2) SANTOSA - Contentment - Peace of Mind - Ease
3) TAPAS – Fervor - Discipline - Intention - Consistency - Sustained Practice - Attention
4) SVADHYAYA - Study of the Self - Self Inquiry - Self Examination - Self Awareness - Self Realization
5) ISVARA PRANIDHANA – Contemplation - Attunement - Surrender - Receptivity - Devotion
*Click here or on the word Niyama for more information. Also, please note: There is a grand pool of information, interpretations and applications available for the above principles that can be applied and researched.
